Bankura sammilani college started its journey on 1st September 1948 by the Bankura sammilani registered society. It is one of the oldest colleges in the Bankura district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce and science. The college’s mission is to provide quality education and achieve excellence in higher education, conveying the opportunities of higher education to the society for the uplift of the youth in future. It is the first NAAC accredited college in the Bankura district with a B+ grade. In 1960, the college came under the affiliation of Burdwan University. Currently, the college runs in two shifts. Commerce courses are being taught on the morning shift, and science and art courses are on the day shift.
